Kidnapped...

Last night, I kidnapped my husband. Yes that's right...KIDNAPPED! It was SO FUN! Bobby had had an extremely stressful and busy week with exams, quizzes, studying, late nights, etc...so I decided he needed a little fun to celebrate the end of an insane week! So, I kidnapped him!

He was such a good sport, he even let me blindfold him as I drove to our first stop...dinner.

We ate downtown in Shockoe Bottom at Bottoms Up Pizza. DELISH! I had heard so many good things about this restaurant so I knew we needed to try it out!
Here's Bobby with our huge BBQ Chicken pizza...doesn't he look excited! =0)

After dinner, we headed to stop #2. I let Bobby drive this time and just directed him where to drive. He was guessing the whole way where he thought we were going...he had no idea! We ended up at the bowling alley for some good old bowling. While we waited for our lane to be ready we passed the time with some arcade games!

Motorcycle game...

my favorite kind of arcade game...

no...this picture was not posed...this is serious business

One Hat, Two Hat...

Last Saturday, Christen and Rachel came up for a visit. So, in classes us style, we headed down to Carytown to try on some vintage dresses, get lunch, window shop, and of course hit up some World of Mirth for silliness. It's kind of become tradish to go to World of Mirth and try on their many crazy hats & glasses, and since Rach had never been...we knew we had to take her! I mean, it was her birthday, so we celebrated with great mirth! =0)

Silly girls...

Valentines...

First things first with Valentines day. I needed a sweet shirt. So I made one...props to Erin(again! she always has the best ideas!) for this idea! It turned out so cute! I wore it to school on Friday and all my kids were like "I love...what?" So I told them. Haha! It was fun!

on to the real v-day celebration! It was FaBuLoUs that v-day was on a Saturday! So nice to sleep in and just relax with my hubby. I made us a yummy breakfast of pancakes, sausage, strawberries, oj, and coffee...which we thoroughly enjoyed!

I was going for heart shaped pancakes...hmmm...not so much.

The rest of the day we spend relaxing, spending our gift cards to Borders, and of course STARBUCKS! Bobby had surprised me earlier with tickets to see the Richmond Ballet's performance of Cinderella, which happened to fall on Valentines Day! I was so excited! I had seen an ad for it and mentioned that I really wanted to see it, so my sweet boy got us tickets! He's the best...and sweetest...and I'm crazy about him! Anyway, that night we got all dressed up and headed to Landmark Theater for Cinderella!!

Nothing like a good ponytail to dress things up...

...ready to go...

The Landmark Theater

We had AWESOME seats! Front row, balcony...I could see perfectly!

The ballet was fantastic! And Bobby enjoyed it almost as much as I did...I mean seriously...does anyone really enjoy seeing grown men dance around in tights? Hmmm...not so much. Aside from that, the ballet was so fun and so incredible! Thank you Love for being so sweet and thoughtful and getting us tickets. You are THE BEST!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Goals...

I have recently(meaning about an hour ago), come up with some goals for myself.

Goal #1 ~ With Lent approaching, I decided I would take the plunge and give up something for Lent. So here goes...starting next Wednesday I will be giving up sweets for the entirety of Lent. AHHH! A friend of mine at work is doing the same thing, so we will be helping one another out on this one. I'm glad that I am not going this alone...cuz if I was, I know I would cheat. But, having someone asking me and doing it with me makes me more confident in my self-control...cuz who wants to have to tell that they cheated? I mean, seriously.

Goal #2 ~ I am also setting a goal to exercise at least 4 times a week, if not more. I'm thinking 2 days for cardio and 2 days for my Pilates. The nice thing about this goal is that I love to do Pilates. It's fun, relaxing, and I can feel it working instantly. The hard thing is the cardio. I hate running. I hate exercising in a smelly workout room on a treadmill. What I like to do is walk...a fast walk of course, but I would much rather walk outside than on a treadmill. So, I am determined that even if I can't walk outside due to inclement weather, I will go to that smelly workout room and get on that treadmill. Eek!

Goal #3 ~ Normally at dinnertime, Bobby and I sit in front of the tv and watch part of a movie or a MacGyver or something. We NEVER use our kitchen table. Well, my third goal is to at least 2 times a week sit at our table and eat a normal meal with NO TV. I actually made this goal a few weeks ago and we ate at the table once. So, I'm for real this time. Bobby and I both agreed that this would be a good idea, to help us to grow in our communication with one another, and to just enjoy spending time together talking. So, I am excited about this one...

Also, I could use your prayers. I just realized last week that I need to have our apartment packed up and moved out in 2 1/2 months. EEK! I have done absolutely nothing to get this started. So, my tendency is to become super stressed out and anxious that I'm not going to get this done...so please, PLEASE pray that I would put my trust in God and that I would not give in to the anxiety and stress. Please also pray that this moving process would be smooth and easy. Thanks!

Oh, and one more thing. Sorry, I know this is kinda lengthy, but if anyone has any simple, HEALTHY recipes for dinners that they would care to pass on, I would greatly appreciate it! If you could email them to me that would be great! My email is: bekahanne2003@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Dorothy Jean Davis...

Yesterday, my dear grandma, Dorothy Jean Davis, went home to be with her precious Lord & Savior. I am so grateful that I got to spend last weekend with her, laughing, singing, and remembering. She was an a amazing woman of God, and I know that she is dancing and praising God with all that she has right now.

Please pray for us as we head to NC for her memorial service tomorrow. Though we are all grateful that she is no longer struggling in her physical body, it will still be hard. Thank you!

Grandma, goodbye for a little while...we'll meet again, in a better land! Praise the Lord!
