Bobby's birthday was last week, and since we were both going to be very busy on his actual birthday(I had work, he started school, and I had a school meeting that night) we planned to actually celebrate on Saturday. But I couldn't wait that long...I wanted to make his birthday extra special...since we couldn't really do much on the actual day. So, the festivities started Wednesday night, the night before my love turned 24. When he got home from work this was waiting for him...
Along with his presents...I have learned that I have to disguise his gifts, so that he doesn't guess what it is before actually opening...I did a pretty good job this year...and here is all the wrapping...
...that went into wrapping these 2 rather small gifts!
MacGyver is sort of a tradition with us. For Bobby's 3 birthdays since we have been together I have gotten him a season of MacGyver. He's a big fan...and I must say I am too! I'm a little sad because this time I got him the Final Season...sigh...what are we going to do when MacGyver is over! We are nerds...we know...and proud of it(right Cal?). Little known fact...at our wedding guess what our recessional music was? That's right...the MacGyver theme song!
Then on Bobby's birthday, I made some brownies and sang Happy Birthday, and made him make a wish and blow out his candles!
On Saturday, the festivities began again as we headed out on a little road trip to some wineries up near Charlottesville.
First Stop: Horton Vineyards
Traipsing through the vines...
This was our favorite stop! The wines were delicious and we got to tour the winery.
A view of the Barboursville Ruins from the winery
The winery
Looking toward the winery from the ruins...
Yeah, thats right, I said ruins. Governor James Barbour, who originally owned this land, asked Thomas Jefferson to design a home for his family, which was destroyed by fire on Christmas Day in 1884, as the sign below shows.

The ruins of the Barbour Mansion...
Final Stop: Charlottesville, UVA Grounds
After leaving Barboursville, we headed into Charlottesville to get some dinner on The Corner. We ate at The Virginian which is pretty much right across the street from this...
And so ends Bobby's Birthday Weekend...we like to spread birthdays out over as many days as possible...its more fun that way!
