Bobby's Birthday Weekend...

Bobby's birthday was last week, and since we were both going to be very busy on his actual birthday(I had work, he started school, and I had a school meeting that night) we planned to actually celebrate on Saturday.  But I couldn't wait that long...I wanted to make his birthday extra special...since we couldn't really do much on the actual day.  So, the festivities started Wednesday night, the night before my love turned 24.  When he got home from work this was waiting for him...
Along with his presents...I have learned that I have to disguise his gifts, so that he doesn't guess what it is before actually opening...I did a pretty good job this year...and here is all the wrapping...
...that went into wrapping these 2 rather small gifts!
MacGyver is sort of a tradition with us.  For Bobby's 3 birthdays since we have been together I have gotten him a season of MacGyver.  He's a big fan...and I must say I am too!  I'm a little sad because this time I got him the Final  Season...sigh...what are we going to do when MacGyver is over!  We are nerds...we know...and proud of it(right Cal?).  Little known fact...at our wedding guess what our recessional music was?  That's right...the MacGyver theme song!

Then on Bobby's birthday, I made some brownies and sang Happy Birthday, and made him make a wish and blow out his candles!

On Saturday, the festivities began again as we headed out on a little road trip to some wineries up near Charlottesville.

First Stop:  Horton Vineyards

Traipsing through the vines...

Second Stop: The Barboursville Winery

This was our favorite stop!  The wines were delicious and we got to tour the winery.

A view of the Barboursville Ruins from the winery

The winery

Looking toward the winery from the ruins...

Yeah, thats right, I said ruins. Governor James Barbour, who originally owned this land, asked Thomas Jefferson to design a home for his family, which was destroyed by fire on Christmas Day in 1884, as the sign below shows.

The ruins of the Barbour Mansion...

Final Stop: Charlottesville, UVA Grounds

After leaving Barboursville, we headed into Charlottesville to get some dinner on The Corner.  We ate at The Virginian which is pretty much right across the street from this...

And so ends Bobby's Birthday Weekend...we like to spread birthdays out over as many days as possible...its more fun that way!

I Have an LBF...

LBF=Little BoyFriend

He's about 3'5", wears glasses, has curly, shockingly blonde hair...and is in my kindergarten class!

On Wednesday, we were out at dismissal, and my LBF had already been picked up by his mom.  All of a sudden I feel this little tap, tap, tap, on my arm...I look down to see my LBF looking up at me.  He blurts out, "I think you're pretty!" and runs away back to his mom.  AWWW!!!  So cute!  His mom looks at me and says, "He's been wanting to tell you that all week."  ::Smile::

And then on Thursday, my LBF gave me two pictures that he had colored for me. What a cutie!

I love teaching kindergarten!  It makes me very happy!

To My Love...

Happy Birthday Love!

Love, I am so grateful to God for giving me you!  Not only are you my husband(and the most handsomest hunk of a husband), but you are my best friend!  I always know that I can talk to you about anything, so thanks for listening to my ramblings!  Thank you for the way you serve me by working hard at the pharmacy to bring in the bucks and for going to school faithfully to pursue a career so that you can provide for our little family.  Thank you for the way you point me to Christ and encourage me to seek after him.  I love that you have such a desire to know more about our Savior and a strong desire to be able to know what you believe so that you can defend your faith.  The way you are always reading and studying how to do that is so encouraging to me and provokes me to want to do the same.
I love you more than anything and I am so glad that we get to spend every day together!  I still just look at you sometimes and think, "How in the world did I ever get him?"  I'm amazed at God's kindness to me and I'm amazed that you love me more and more even though you see my sin all the time.  Thank you for the way that you care for me.  I always know that when I'm struggling, sad, missing home, or frustrated about things, that there is a place in your arms for me!
So love, Happy 24th Birthday!  You are my knight in shining armor...I LOVE YOU!!
